New York March 17th '86.
Miss Hattie Noyes
Canton China.
My dear Miss Noyes,
It gives me pleasure
to inform you that at the
meeting of the Board last Monday
your application for leave of absence
was cordially granted. I think
that your faithful labors during
these nine or ten years have
entitled you to it, especially
as you have been more or less
under great excitement and
heavy strains. I am in the
midst of many things, and
can only write briefly now but
I wish again to assure you of
my great interest in your
school and to congratulate
you upon the success which
your last letter recounted

With kind regards to your
sister and to the Mission
circle I remain,
Sincerely yours
F. F. Ellinwood

我正忙于许多事情,
现在只能写简短的文章,
但我想再次向您保证,
我对您的学校非常感兴趣,
并祝贺您在上一封信中所讲述的成功,
