She comments on Henry's health is improved by a lack of burdens and wonders how he hasn't died yet. She gives updates on who is coming up to Canton and ends talking about the inscription on her father's and her Uncle Josiah's monuments.

My dear Sara
I am afraid before
this letter reaches Seville you
will have started back to
Jacksonville for I infer
from your letter that the
time to take a year's rest
has not come yet. I
am glad you found
such a restful place at
"Lake Bluffs" and I hope
after you reached home you
were able to continue resting,
and were not overwhelmed
with "summer boarders."
I am sorry you have been
so troubled with rheumatism
but hope it is now in the past.
I heard of a man in
Delaware Ohio who was cured
by rolling a wheel barrow from
there to Boston Mass I think.
You had better get a tricycle
and come over to San Francisco
and then take the steamer
across to Canton. Canton
is said to be a good place
for rheumatism that is a
good place [u] not [/u] to have it.
I presume before this reaches
you you will have said
good bye again to Henry
and his family. Miss Lewis
was saying yesterday that
every one here noticed how
much he improved apparently
in health during the year
after she left It shows what
a terrible burden he must
be bearing that when relieved
of it in a measure he could
improve in health after he
had been out here ten years
and was working as hard
as he was. I wonder that
he has not died long ago.
Miss Butler says she never
saw any one seem such a
perfect embodiment of utter
weariness as he has sometimes
when with her. They both
say that they have often
[u] often [/u] seen him look fully
as badly as that photo
Martha sent home. It seems
as though his visit in the home
land cannot have given
him much pleasure but
I hope it has some.
Martha and Dr Kerr are
I presume on their way up
from Hong Kong today and
Olivia is probably coming
up from Macau. Mr Wisner
is coming down this afternoon
with Sophie to take a photograph
of her in her bridal array,
so we can perhaps send
you a picture. He wishes
to try to get a photo of me
but I am sure he will be
disappointed in the result
I am such a poor subject.
The photograph of the decoration
in the church is very good.
I wish we could have had one
taken of our church as it was
when Father was laid to rest.
But I am sure we shall
always be able to carry the
picture in our memories. I
am glad you like the monument.
I thought just as you did at
first about the words "Asleep in
Jesus." April 20th Clara wrote
them in the letter from Needham
giving the inscription on Uncle
Josiah's monument. That is
the form in which it is expressed
on his [--monument--]. It must be
considered correct I am sure or it
would never have been put on his
[--monument--] so. You know his
monument was erected by the
people of Needham and I suppose
it must have been arranged
by a committee of competent persons
so it seemed different from
what it would have been
if erected by an individual
or a single family. And
then Needham is [?within?]

once in
