Title

Section of Unsigned Letter

Subject

Missionaries; Health; Prayer

Description

The author of this document, most likely Martha, notes that their father would be very proud of an unknown 'him,' probably Henry because he is practically the head of a school. They write that more missionaries are coming to China from Australia. Also, they thank the recipient for prayers on half of Hattie's health.

How glad Father would have
been to have seen him
at the head of this school. He
is virtually at the head of it
in any case - and there has
been no feeling about it .
I wish I could write more
shall think of you Christmas
Hattie and I will be together
some where. She may come
to Canton - will if she is
able. Now I can not write
more 3 of the China Inland
Mission have just called -
Dr Taylor with a Mr Beach
man from Shanghai have
been to Australia since the
Shanghai Conference and
have obtained 70 who have
volunteered to come to China
as Missionaries. They hope
the number will grow to
100 one truth of the number

called for by the Conference.
Now I must not add another
thing Am so glad you were
all well at least writing My
heart warms towards the
dear people in our old home
surrounding who have prayed
so earnestly for our dear sister
The message you sent given
you by our pastor - that he felt
an assurance that Hatties
life would be spared arrived
when she was very ill but it
inspired me with a hope that
never afterwards wavered for
a moment. Please tell him
he can never know [--how--][
what a strength and comfort it
was to me just at the time
when I needed it. It repeated
itself again and again in
my mind when things looked
dark, and came us as an
assurance that in the end all
