Afterwards had a little
social time and then Dr
Happer read a hymn and
we had two prayers one offered
by Dr Happer the other by
Dr Graves . Every thing went
off to the entire satisfaction
of the bride and groom who
said there was nothing that
they could have improved
upon. Mr Leaman told us
he was more than satisfied
that he had not made one
suggestion and that every
thing was so nice I am
ever so glad they feel so for
it will be pleasant for them
to think of afterwards -
Lucy had some quite nice
presents and so useful all
of them - Mr Cunningham
gave them beautiful straw
carpet enough tp cover three
large rooms. Hattie and I
a set of tea [?poys?] - marked
with her initial letter. She had three
sets of salt sellars silver from
different people - A table cover
and brush. [Illegible] -vases
etc etc. I told her she was going out
as the Israelites did from Egypt
carrying away more than she
brought .She came with a box
and trunk and packages of one kind
and another . They left Wednes-
day afternoon the day after they
were married at 4 P.M. Your
spatter work picture - No zero no
crown and God bless our [u]Home[/u]
got here just at the right time
and were all right . We are
looking just a little for our
[u]box[/u] when Henry comes but if
he does not bring it Dr Kerr
who will be here by the middle
of Feb can. We are so delighted
that he is really coming back
into the hospital. You do not
know how much we need
him - The last mail brought
letters from Dr Ellinwood in
answer to the resignation of Dr
Carrow. He resigned his salary
only it seems but Dr E-- said he
should be very careful when the
matter went through that meeting
of the trustees that his connection
with the Board should be [u]severed[/u]
entirely .It was an exceedingly
plain letter was [?sort?] open to the
